BILE OF MAN BIOGRAPHY

Considered to be one of the heaviest bands currently in S.A. Bile Of Man has gained the respect of fans and other bands as a result of their unrelenting brutality and intensity.

Bile Of Man was founded in 2007 by drummer Riaan 'Ondier' Els (ex Shadowlord, Funeral God), who employed Jacques Valentyn (ex Mjolnir) as guitarist and co-songwriter. They were joined shortly after by second guitarist Bennie Burger. By mid-2007, after undergoing several line-up changes, the band consisted of vocalist Martin Bester, Bennie Burger and Gustaf Erasmus on guitars, Riaan Els on drums and Choroz Bileous on bass.

Their debut show in April 2008 cast their live performance reputation in stone, paving the way for them to become one of the most energetic live acts the South African metal scene has ever seen. Soon after their debut Martin Bester was replaced on vocals by the bearer of hatred, Rehan de Kock. Within the following year they played alongside Metal masters Carcass at the Witchfest festival. Undergoing changes on guitar saw Gustaf replaced by Jacques Valentyn, who also left the band early in 2009.

Despite being one man short, the band recorded their first two track demo by mid-2009. The tracks, entitled "Descendant of Desecration" and "Wrath of the stillborn" were placed online as free downloads and drew a large amount of international interest.

In October 2009 Nicolas Sothman (ex Witchazel) stepped in to fill the position of second guitarist, playing his first show at Rocktoberfest 2009. The band has been going strong playing some of South Africa's biggest metal festivals and showcases including Ensiferum Tour of South Africa, Season's Wither 4, Deathfest 2010, Thornfest, Motherfudd and Rocktoberfest 2010.

The band started recording their debut EP entitled "Dystopian Order: The Age of Detritus" in mid-2010. Upon completion of the recording the band parted ways with long time bassist Choroz Bileous, who was replaced by Kyle Smith (ex All Forlorn frontman). The EP was released in March 2011 on a national tour that showcased the band with their intensity, brutality and macabre heaviness on stages across S.A.
